The Computer and Book RPG/Adventure Museum

Welcome to what I hope will become the most complete Classic Fantasy RPG and Adventure archive on the 'net.  For completely nostalgic purposes, I have carefully compiled lists of all pre-1990 computer adventure and RPG games that I could find, as well as adventure and RPG gamebooks from this era.  I have collected (thanks eBay!!) as many of these as I can (and I'm still going strong).  Here I provide, for your viewing pleasure, my complete collection of games, boxes, books, posters, etc.  While I have tried to include every book series and computer game that could possibly considered adventure or RPG-like, there are definitely things I have left out.  If one of your favorites is not found among these pages and not still on my wantlist, please let me know and, unless I've specifically left it out for some reason, I'll add it to the wantlist.  On the same note, if you have anything on the wantlist that you'd like to donate ;) or sell, please e-mail me at howardjfeldman .AT. gmail .DOT. com.

IMPORTANT: please do NOT e-mail me to ask for game hints or solutions, or for games, unless it is on the forsale page and you want to buy it.  I will not make copies of games for anyone, nor will I scan or photocopy the interiors of any books or hint books.  This is copyright infringement and you should buy the books if this is what you want.  For game walkthroughs visit GamesDomain or similar sites.  Many books can be found on eBay or Bookfinder.  Finally, do not bother asking to buy anything that is not on the forsale page.  I am not trying to be cruel but am hoping to avoid getting excessive e-mails which I don't have time to deal with.

Some notes on my philosophy for what should and shouldn't be in this "museum"

  • I have specifically left off most games which are either "cyberpunk" or science fiction-type outer-space games.  While many of these were great role-playing games, I have chosen NOT to include any such games at this time, I'd like to stick for the most part to games taking place in the present or past.  The few exceptions (for example Wasteland) were included because I either already owned them, or because they were part of a greater series (e.g. the Infocom games)
  • I am NOT interested in video game cartridges, I am sticking to computer games only.  Again, the few exceptions I either already owned, or are exceptionally cool and classic (like Magnavox's Quest for the Rings)
  • I AM interested in hearing about any box/documentation variations.  If you have any of the games pictured on this site and they look different than what you see here, please let me know and/or send a picture
  • I have tried to keep everything in the collection earlier than about 1992.  It was about this time that games began to regularly be released on CDs and packaging started to suck, being nothing more than an empty cardboard box with a CD in it.  Again the only exceptions or those that are part of series like the Ultimas, and those which were instant classics.
